After months of inactivity due to the measures and restrictions implemented by the countries in the face of the COVID-19 Pandemic, in October 2020, the caravans of migrants from the North of Central America will resume their journey to the United States, after the devastating passage of the ETA-IOTA storms that affected millions of people. Through various calls on social networks, they are leaving the city of San Pedro Sula for Ocotepque.

In view of this situation, IOM implemented the monitoring of the flow of migrants from December 9 to 11, 2020 from San Pedro Sula, the point where the migrant population walked from the metropolitan bus terminal to the border, Agua Caliente in Guatemala. During this period, the intervention of the technical team was coordinated at different points for the preparation of situation reports.
