In the early morning hours of Monday, October 10, 2022, Tropical Storm Julia made landfall in El Salvador, having made landfall in Nicaragua on Saturday, October 8, 2022 as a hurricane and then degraded to a tropical storm as it continued on its path. In view of this, the Government of El Salvador declared a State of Emergency on Sunday, October 9, 2022, prior to the arrival of the tropical storm.
