Migration and reintegration dynamics of the returnee migrant population in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras
The International Organization for Migration, through the Information Unit for the countries of Northern Central America, developed the study “Migration and reintegration dynamics of the returned migrant population in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras”.
Within the framework of the Comprehensive Responses on Migration in Central America program, with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), 26 focus groups and two semi-structured interviews were conducted in nine cities in El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, with returned migrants, civil society organizations and representatives of government institutions.
The study was implemented to understand the dynamics of migration and reintegration in order to propose comprehensive humanitarian and protection solutions for the returned migrant population and thereby strengthen the communities of origin.
